Honeywell came to be in 1885 because of the creation of the damper flapper (by Albert Butz), which is a thermostat used for coal furnaces.

Cool Mist and Warm Mist
A Honeywell humidifier comes in two classes: there are warm mist humidifiers and cool mist humidifiers. There's a few notable differences between the two.
Cool mist Honeywell humidifiers trap impurities and minerals using a filter and later a cool, non-visible mist is evaporated into the area.
They are easy to clean and quite effective in large areas. Cool mist humidifiers are great for warmer climates and they are easier to breathe.

Warm mist Honeywell humidifiers put out a soothing and warm mist that you are able to feel and see.. They are great treatments for a flu or cold because a lot of models have a medicine cup to disperse inhalants or respiratory medicines.
One of the negatives is that they need to be cleaned frequently and are harder to clean than cold air humidifiers, because very hot water produces mineral deposits.
