Outdoor rope lights are a fun way to breathe new life into your holiday decorations or add additional lighting to your backyard and patio area.

However there are more uses for rope lights than draping them outdoor. Rope lights can also be a great way to liven up indoor parties, kid's rooms and dorms.

Christmas

You're probably most familiar with outdoor rope lights because of how often they are used in Christmas décor.

A lot of people choose to use outdoor rope light instead of traditional Christmas lights because it gives a consistent band of light where you string it, instead of little bulbs every few inches.

This way you can really emphasize the outline of your house by having it completely lined in light.

Along with simply stringing the outdoor rope light up along their eaves and windows, people also use rope light to make different shapes - from stars to snowmen - because it's so flexible and easy to manipulate. You can do a lot of cute things as long as you plan it out.

Gardens & Patios

Winter isn't the only time of year to use outdoor rope light. It can be used any time, really.

After the snow has melted and you can't create a winter wonderland anymore, you can use your outdoor rope light to bring a little nighttime glamour to your garden.

For instance, you can run it along the sides of your walk way, giving a nice glow to your plants and making it easy to find your way inside.

You can also string up outdoor rope light along your patio for evening barbecues and parties. In fact, you could leave outdoor rope light up all year long since it transitions from holiday lighting to outdoor ambiance lighting with ease.

Parties

If you're having a party in your house, outdoor rope lights can be a great way to liven up the room. You can string them up around the ceiling or use them to highlight certain architectural features like your fireplace mantle or windows.

Since outdoor rope lights come in a variety of colors, you can really jazz up your house. Outdoor rope light really brings that nightclub atmosphere that can make a party seem super cool.

Indoor Uses

Outside of parties, you can also use outdoor rope lights just to bring a cool, new look to different rooms inside your house. Whether it's your kitchen or your kid's room, stringing up this light can be cute and helpful.

For instance, you can use outdoor rope lights as countertop lighting just but installing it underneath your cupboards.

Or you can drape it around your child's bed to give them a really cool night light. There are lots of options!
