Sharp Solar Panels:

Solar Panels – A New Market for Sharp

Custom Search

Sharp solar panels are quickly becoming the world’s standard for cheap, efficient solar power. They’re used by the San Francisco Giants, Niente Wineries, and by green builders across the country. In fact, Sharp sold more than $1 billion worth of solar panels last year.

So, what sets Sharp solar panels apart? Why are they chosen by NFL franchises and independent homeowners alike? To find out more about Sharp’s popular solar panels, including their pros and their cons, keep reading.

Affordable Entry Points

Where Sharp really succeeded in the marketplace was by making an affordable entry solar panel for individual homeowners. The Sharp ND-62RUI 62-watt solar modules are designed for rooftops and they’re affordable, easy to install and efficient.

Though solar roof modules have been around in residential construction since the 1970s, they’re only now really starting to take off as they come down in price and increase in efficiency.

Ease of Install for Sharp Solar

One of the reasons why Sharp solar panels are so popular with end users is their ease-of-install. Basically, the solar modules just lay flat on the roof, are attached and then easily interlock with other roof tiles for a uniform look.

They’re simply screwed right on to the roof battens with no need for framing or making additional holes in the roof.

And, they can be replaced one-by-one, without the need to remove any surrounding roofing tiles or materials.

A solar module roof tile is bigger and typically replaces about five standard roof tiles. Each of their modules also features a coating designed to absorb sunlight in low-light conditions, meaning they can run longer from dusk to dawn.

Moisture Resistant

Because they’re designed for rooftop use, Sharp’s solar panels are designed to be moisture resistant. Each panel has a series of channels for funneling water and a design that makes it resistant to damp and potential impact.

The panels are also wind-resistant and have been installed by municipalities like New Orleans, a city known for its hurricanes and high winds.

Sharp’s Power Output Guarantee

Probably one of the biggest selling points behind Sharp solar panels is the company’s 25-year warranty on the panels’ power output. Basically, a base amount of power generated on a typical install is guaranteed for 25 years.

In the average home, panels can reduce energy consumption to about 33% or 50%, which represents huge savings – especially when it’s multiplied by 25 years.

A Long Way to Go

Sharp still has a long way to go though. Solar power actually only accounts for less than 1 percent of all the energy production in the world, meaning we’re still quite dependent on fossil fuels.

However, with every homeowner frustrated by their energy bills, Sharp solar panels may have just made another sale.
