There are many different types of home insulation and all of them have different uses.  The main idea of insulation is to keep the heat within the home.

With the cost of heat going up so much day in and day out, there are a lot of different things to think about when preparing to put insulation into your home.

The first thing to think about is the cost for the insulation versus the amount that it will save in energy bills.  Choosing insulation for your home can be a hard decision, but the main benefit is that there are so many options.

The problem is that without some knowledge on what types of home insulation will work best for your situation; it can be hard to figure out what to choose.

Types of Home Insulation

The most common and easiest way to install the different types of home insulation, are with the format of insulation blankets.  They are simple to install and it doesn’t take any experience to do it.

One of the types of home insulation is rock wool or mineral wool.  This insulation is made from molten rock slag, and it is fire resistant as well as mold resistant.  This insulation is used for a variety of different purposes.

Other Types of Insulation

Another of the types of home insulation is cellulose.  This insulation is made from paper or ground wood and is usually blown in wails and attics.  There are a lot of similarities in the different types of home insulation, most being that they are flame and mold resistant.

That is one of the most important things about insulation in a home.  If the insulation is not mold and flame resistant then it doesn’t belong inside a home.

Fiberglass loose fill is a type of insulation that is made of molten glass.  This is the best type of insulation for standard joist widths. This is also one of the types of home insulation that is mold and fire resistant.

The number one benefit of having these different types of home insulation is having the choice to insulate your home within the perfect way.
